Kettlebell Korner.

Keeping the theme for Kettlebell Korner going of Busting Kettlebell Myths!

Myth #3

Kettlebells Are Expensive - If you think this then I have a serious question, have you ever bought fitness equipment? It weighs a lot, so I’m sorry but a 53lb ball of iron is a little more expensive to ship than a pair of shoes. I’m sorry you’re strong and need heavy weight🤷‍♂️ .

So overall they might feel expensive but in the grand scheme of fitness equipment they’re not...and they're pretty on par with everything else.

Plus, if you consider the lifetime value of it (so how long you’ll have it) not much compares.…it’s a very durable ball of iron so as long as you don’t leave it in the rain a bunch or throw it off a building you should have it basically forever.

And if you still don’t believe me let’s run some numbers.

If you went on Nike Strength's website and wanted to get some equipment, here's what it would look like:

- Barbell with a pair of 10, 25 & 45lb Bumper Plates and Clips = $770
- 18, 26, 35, 44, 53, 62, 70lb Kettlebells = $693

And not to mention, I'd be able to make a very strong argument that the above set of kettlebells will get MUCH more done than the above barbell and bumper plate set...

But I also know I'm biased :)

Alright...see you next week for the conclusion of busting kettlebell myths with myth #4!

Pushing Progress.

Juuuust A Little Bit More

I talk to a lot of people who are new at things or just starting their journey.

For the past 13 years it has primarily been fitness and nutrition, but as of late I have been talking to a lot of people who want to start posting content.

Now whether it is fitness, nutrition, content posting or anything else the same question always gets asked in the beginning...

"How often should I do it?" - meaning how many times a week should I workout, post content etc.

My answer is always the same, and this philosophy comes from being in the fitness industry and trying to prevent physical and mental burnout from people.

"Do what you know you can handle and stay consistent with, but try doing juuuust a little more here and there"

So if someone knows they can carve out 3x a week for 35-40 minutes for workouts to start their journey, I want them to stick with that because that is what will work with their schedule and lifestyle.

But...I want them to try juuuust a little bit more when they can. So if they have some extra time in a day, make that workout 45-50 minutes. Or if one of their days during the week frees up, let's add a 4th workout to the week. Now this might not happen every day or every week and that is fine, but it's the concept of adding juuuust a little bit more when they have the ability to.

Because if we truly want to make progress and make change then we have to push out of our comfort zone at least a little...so with this concept we start to introduce that without going full David Goggins mode.

Sticking with what we can handle is very important when starting out in any journey to avoid burnout...but pushing past discomfort is just as important to make progress.

Client Shoutout

Today's client shoutout goes to Brian!

As you can see Brian has been on Project Bellplex for 9 months now and is absolutely killing it.

I can't tell you how happy I get when people tell me they actually look forward to and enjoy their training. There are so many people that DON'T and it is a huge reasons why people aren't in the shape they want to be in.

That is what Project Bellplex is all about. And why people like Brian are absolutely winning in life.

Because they found a form of moving their body they look forward to. Which is what allows you to be consistent for 9 months, a year, 2 years etc.

Then the physical results just come as an effect of that.

Amazing work Brian, keep it up!

Business Nugget.

Put Yourself In The Room.

I was on a podcast a couple months back and the guy interviewing me said that I should do some speaking.

I said I think that would be really cool and would like to do that but honestly...I don't know wtf I would talk about.

He said "you have to attend events, hear what people are talking about and see what is missing that you have to offer...that's what you talk about"

I grasped the concept but didn't fully believe it, I guess I still didn't think I would have anything to talk about if I'm being honest.

Fast forward to this past weekend, I attended an event called A to B Con. It is a local business and professional development conference with a lot of speakers giving talks and networking.

And well...to my surprise, after listening to about 10 speakers give talks I had ideas running through my head like crazy as to what I could give a talk on. Just like that.

Now I'm trying to figure out where and when I can speak! All because I decided fairly last minute to attend this event.

I tell this story for one main reason and that is, if you want to do something, you need to get in the room.

If you want to learn about real estate, get in a room with real estate investors.

If you want to learn about entrepreneurship, get in a room with entrepreneurs.

You want to learn about speaking, get in a room full of speakers.

Attend conferences, networking events, buy someone a coffee etc. Put yourself in the environment you wan to be a part of, around people you want to be like, experience all of it and learn as much as you possibly can.

There is no teacher like real world experience and immersion.
