Kettlebell Korner.

Callouses!

I have been getting questions about callouses and ripped hands since the day I started posting about kettlebells.

And it took me a while but I finally got asked enough times to just say F IT I'm making a YouTube video about it!

So that is exactly what I did.

How to treat callouses.

Shave them? Bite them? Cheese grater them?

How to prevent rips.

How to treat rips.

How to workout with rips.

Chalk? Gloves? WODNDONES?

I even show you to to change your technique when your hands are roughed up!

Aaallll of it is answered in this video right here...it's a little long but that is because I covered all the bases.

So...take a look when you're ready and let me know what you think in the comments!

Pushing Progress.

Treat Bodyweight Exercises Like A Skill

If you want to get better at bodyweight exercises (primarily pullups and pushups), personally I think the best way to do that is by treating them like a skill and not a body part that needs to get stronger.

Something I see all the time from people is that when they want to get better at either of these exercises, they do the same thing they would do if they wanted to get better at bench pressing...they do it once (maybe twice) a week.

I just don't think this is the right way to do it.

In my experience...There is something about bodyweight exercises that if you treat them like a skill, you get better much quicker.

So what do I mean by treat them like a skill?

Well...if you wanted to get better at jumping rope, would you jump rope once a week for 15 minutes? Or would you jump rope for a few minutes every single day? You'd probably pick the ladder.

That is what I mean by treat bodyweight exercises like a skill. If you want to get better at pushups...do some pushups every single day, or at least every other day.

Don't worry about "overtraining" or "recovery" - because chances are you don't need to with them at this stage and honestly...you can do a ton of bodyweight exercises all day long and recover very quickly.

I don't have a big sciency explanation for you on this one, but it's just the way it works with pullups and pushups. So if you want to get better at them, stop doing them 1-2x a week and start accumulating some reps at least 4x a week.

Watch what happens...

Client Shoutout

Today's client shoutout goes to Ben!

As you can see Ben has been on Project Bellplex for just 3 weeks but is loving it! I love when people like Ben jump on the program and dive it head first right away to get the most out of it.

It also doesn't hurt to hear "best program I've ever done" so I've got to admit, that helps a lot haha.

But Ben has been crushing it and I can't wait to see what he does on this new cycle that we just started!

Business Nugget.

Get In The Right Room.

This weekend I am headed to the Forever Strong Summit hosted by Gabrielle Lyon.

It is a top notch Fitness and Business summit. I even signed up for the VIP Day.

I am super excited but at the same time very nervous because I don't go to things like this very often...if ever.

Now I am more nervous because I know I am going to feel out of place at this thing, I can just feel it (I might be wrong, but we will see). And when I say out of place I simply mean in terms of the level of people who are going to be there.

People who are going to be more successful, smarter, have bigger businesses, strong relationships, better networks etc. While I'm just some dude who swings kettlebells in his garage haha.

But really...there are going to be some heavy hitters at this event and I know there are going to be times where I feel like I am at the bottom of the Totem pole.

Good.

Because as uncomfortable as that might be in the moment I know that is exactly where I need to be and who I need to be around. That is how you get a bigger network, build stronger relationships, build your business, grow more confident and so on.

It is going to be an uncomfortable weekend that I know is going to serve me incredibly well. And I can't wait.
